My wife and I have been taking our cars to Continental Motors since we moved here in the early 90s. They have always been good to us. If your car needs work go to Continental Motors. You're going to get quality mechanics working on your car. They do pickups and deliveries and wash your car after it gets serviced, highly recommended.

Sweet and caring hardworkers. My engine needed a lot of work last year and I was preparing myself of having no car because I couldn’t afford to fix it, but my boss recommended me to go to their shop and I’m so glad he did because a year later, my 2009 vehicle is still in great shape. Their prices are affordable and they really care about their customers. Thank you for saving my car!!

Brought my car in for an oil change. John charged me $145 for the oil change and an "inspection". Then he called me to tell me that my car needed an extra $300 of service: $210 to change the transmission fluid (because it was dirty) and $75 for a couple of filters. It sounded suspect, so I said I was going to wait. I left and went around the corner to another shop. I ask them what they charge for changing the transmission fluid and these filters. They told me that my car doesn't need transmission fluid changed, as my transmission is sealed. He said sometimes people still do it, but it isn't recommended until 80000 miles. (My car only has 40k.) He even looked it up in the computer and showed me. He also said the shops he knows that do this service charge $160-180. Then he changed the filters and only charged me $35. I asked about the oil change and "inspection". He charges $50 for everything. Needless to say, I will never return to Continental Motorworks.

Brought 2007 Toyota Avalon in because I thought I was leaking transmission fluid. My son in law saw fluid on pavement so early in the morning I checked all my levels and thought that I was low in transmission fluid which I checked with the motor running. With a referral from a friend I took it to Continental and had John look at it. He went checked all the levels and thoroughly inspected the motor compartment and found no leaks. He said that the thin transmission fluid is difficult to read on the dip stick and let me go without any charge. It's good to know an honest mechanic, especially as a visitor from Camarillo who often visits our grandkids in SLO. I Liked John and his clean, busy shop. He could have told me I need a new seal and I would have paid him several hundred dollars just to make it home. I'm keeping his card handy.

Excellent experience! John made sure I understood everything that needed to be done and why. He's very knowledgeable and it's clear that he truly cares about your satisfaction. Everyone on his team were kind and helpful.

Hopefully, the woes (one star ratings) of 2016 and 2012 are behind them, and the mechanics have learned to be detail oriented on gaskets, broken parts, etc. My 2002 Odyssey recently had rack-and-pinion steering, hoses, sensors, etc. at my local shop (bay area). Two months later, a huge leak under the car (stranding my daughter), and she tows it to a shop (Continental Motor Works). Seeing the mixed reviews, I questioned why my daughter chose this shop. In any case, the front office was professional; the diagnostics was thorough; and resolution was swift and reasonable. This is the first time that I've used them, but that was my experience.

You guys just tried to rip my wife off for about $800 of unnecessary work; specifically, for changing all the fluids in her car. I happen to be a licensed truck mechanic and degreed electrical engineer. She took her car to your shop for a smog check. In turn, you attempted to steal from from her, attempting to take advantage of a person who doesn't know about cars. You tried to sell my wife completely unnecessary services. The fluids in her car are clean. Yes, the water in the coolant system has evaporated over the last 50,000 miles or so, I will put some distilled water in the reservoir, thank you. But the fluid is squeaky clean, as is the trans fluid, power steering fluid, and motor oil. We used to offer this service for free when i worked in a gas station....we'd just charge for the topping-off of water. You people are thieves.
