Services Performed
  • HOOKED UP SCAN TOOL AND RETRIEVED CODE #P0301 WHICH IS A CYLINDER #1 MISSFIRE. FURTHER TESTING FOUND THAT WE WERE GETTING AN ERRATIC READING WHEN CHECKING VACUUM, AND THAT CYLINDER #1 WOULD LOSE PRESSURE WHEN PERFORMING A LEAK DOWN TEST. ALL OTHER CYLINDERS CHECKED OKAY, FUEL AND IGNITION SYSTEMS TESTED OKAY. REMOVED DRIVER'S SIDE, OR BANK #1 CYLINDER HEAD, AND SENT TO MACHINE SHOP. MACHINE SHOP TESTED AND FOUND #1 CYLINDER TO BE LEAKING FROM THE INTAKE VALVE. DISASSEMBLED AND FOUND #1 CYLINDER INTAKE VALVE TO BE BURNT. REPLACED VALVE, GROUND ALL VALVES AND SEATS, AND RETESTED. CYLINDER DID NOT LEAK ANYMORE. RESURFACED CYLINDER HEAD AND RETURNED TO US. WE REASSEMBLED WITH 4 NEW PUSHRODS, AND TWO NEW LIFTERS. ENGINE RAN MUCH BETTER, BUT WOULD STILL GET A #1 CYLINDER MISSFIRE CODE AFTER DRIVING APPROX. 10 MILES. THROUGH MORE TESTING AND RESEARCH WE FOUND THAT THE CAMSHAFT WAS SUSPECT. REMOVED CAMSHAFT AND FOUND 5 DAMAGED LOBES. REPLACED CAMSHAFT AND 5 MORE LIFTERS. REASSEMBLED, AND RETESTED. ENGINE RUNS VERY WELL NOW. TEST DROVE UP AND OVER GRADE, AND APPROX. 30 MILES. RECHECKED AND EVERYTHING IS RUNNING WELL, AND MISSFIRE CODE IS NOT COMING BACK.
  • SET TO 35 PSI
  • CUT HEADS, PERFORM A VALVE JOB, AND REPLACE #1 CYLINDER EXHAUST VALVE
  • GASOLINE
